Abstract
The purpose of this study were to compare the physical preparation for later life of babyboomers with the pre-elderly and to seek practical implication for healthy aging of both groups. Anderson and Newman model was used and data were collected in 2011. A total of 1,021 cases of babyboomers and 848 cases of the pre-elderly were participated in this study. Hierarchical regressions were used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was no difference in physical preparation for later life between the babyboomers and the pre-elderly. On the other hand, it turned out that there were a few differences in the factors affecting physical preparation for later life between the two groups. Except commonly influential variables, in regards to the babyboomers, the variables such as ``children``, ``household income``, and ``willing to mental health screening`` were revealed as significant factors to explain physical preparation for later life, whereas, in terms of the pre-elderly, education was the only one. Based on these findings, some suggestions for social work intervention were discussed.
